Cycling weekend

in Laval

Laval is 9 Cyclo routes for young and old, and over 350 km of exploration through varied and inspiring landscapes, just 1h10 from Paris!

Join Laval by train, and let us take care of everything else: the routes, accommodation, bikes equipped for this weekend and even transport between the station and your place of stay, for a stress-free experience.

2 days / 1 night for 2 people: from €270

Day 1

From Laval train station, walk to the Tourist Office, just a few meters away. The bikes* are waiting for you there, ready to go. All you have to do is load your panniers, download the free On Piste app and hop in the cab.

You can also choose to cycle directly from the Tourist Office to your accommodation – we’ve prepared the perfect route for you!

Welcome to your guesthouse !

This former manor house was once a café and a blacksmith’s workshop, before becoming a bed & breakfast. Ideally located near Laval, Olivet, a small village with a rich historical heritage, invites you to relax and discover.

Take time to savor the moment and enjoy your hosts, while discovering the bike ride we’ve prepared for you, passing right in front of your B&B, L’Isloise!

Let’s set off for 36 km of fun on the back roads of our beautiful countryside.

Leaving Olivet, you’ll zigzag from village to village until you reach Port-Brillet, the starting point for the bucolic Ouestern route (but that’s tomorrow!).

From there, it’s on to La Brûlatte, then Saint-Isle, to reach the banks of Saint-Berthevin.

After this stage, we head for Saint-Ouen-des-Toits via secret roads, with the famous red hill (you can’t make that up!) on the program, propelling you at less than 10 km/h over the LGV line!

From “the heights”, the road becomes wiser as you approach Le Genest-Saint-Isle.
Only 8 km to go. Make the most of it!

At the end of the day, take a breath – the garden is just like our hosts: remarkable!

This evening, leave your bikes behind and let us take you to the table of a local restaurant on the banks of a pond, where your taste buds will be spoiled.

Day 2 – Sunday, it’s La Ouestern!

In Mayenne, we don’t talk about La Ouestern as a cowboy movie, but as a real cycling epic that takes you to the far west of our beautiful region!

A new cycling adventure begins from the nearby commune of Port-Brillet and its Etang des Forges. You already know the route, it’s the start of yesterday’s ride; this time we’re taking you for 36 km through small villages, ponds and woods.

From Port Brillet, head for Launay Villiers and its pond, before reaching Le Bourgneuf-La-Forêt, where you can take a break and enjoy the local shops. Then head due west!

A succession of very small roads will take you to Bourgon, the most westerly commune in the Laval area, flirting with our Breton neighbors! You’ll then pass by the Haute Vilaines leisure park before returning to Mayenne to discover an impressive site: the Saint Pierre La Cour cement works.

This village is well worth a visit, not least for its typical houses from the industrial era.

1 km after leaving the village, turn left and plunge into the countryside as far as Ferme de Cornesse. Here you can visit the farm and sample local produce… to be enjoyed without moderation!

All that’s left is to cross the Bois des Gravelles, take a final bend and enjoy a breathtaking view (especially at sunset) over the Etang du Moulin Neuf. You’re back in Port Brillet!

At this point, you have several options for extending or concluding your cycling tour:

  • TER option: If you’re an early bird, the 12:39 pm TER will take you to Laval in 11 minutes. You’ll still have time for another ride, and we’ve provided plenty of food for you**.
  • If you’ve taken your time and enjoyed the scenery, the 5.30pm train will take you back to Laval, with your bikes and panniers. We’ll meet you at the station to wish you a safe journey home!
  • Cab option: If you prefer greater comfort, we can take you and your bikes directly back to Laval station by cab.
  • Sport option : You can also choose to cycle back to Laval, taking advantage of the afternoon for a short boat ride or another bike loop in old Laval.

* Bikes: We offer two options to make the most of your adventure.
touring bike and gravel bikes specially equipped for touring, with panniers, mudguards, lighting and other accessories to guarantee comfort and safety on all roads.
Electrically-assisted bikes (VAE), with a range of up to 80 km, for easier riding and worry-free travel, even on hilly terrain.

** La Lavalloise: a 34 km ride that combines the discovery of Laval and its surrounding countryside. Between undergrowth, greenway, guinguette, towpath and lock houses, you’re in for a busy afternoon!
