A day in Laval

and the surrounding area
Stroll along the Mayenne River

To guide you on this “Slowlydays Experience” day, the bike will be your best ally.
You have several options: you can bring your own bikes, or rent one easily. The Tourist Office offers bikes for hire, as do several specialized local companies. Once in the saddle, take to the towpath for a bucolic ride along the Mayenne, en route to your afternoon activity.

The route takes you through lush, unspoilt landscapes, where nature flourishes in peace and quiet. Along the way, you’ll pass through the charming communes of Changé and Saint-Jean-sur-Mayenne, two Laval Agglomération treasures nestled on the water’s edge.

Pause midway for a picnic in soothing natural surroundings. Take advantage of the opportunity to sample local produce, for a Slowlydays experience in all its dimensions: authentic, ethical and close to the land. Let yourself be carried away by the gentle scenery and tranquil pace of your escapade.

Continue your journey to Montflours and discover the fascinating world of basketry at LaCabanaJude. Judith, a passionate craftswoman, invites you to take part in an immersive workshop that will plunge you into the heart of her know-how. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, she’ll share traditional basket-making techniques with you, enabling you to create your own unique piece.

Workshops are designed for small groups of up to six people, guaranteeing personalized attention and an enriching experience. Whether you’re a beginner or already initiated, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn while sharing a convivial moment with other enthusiasts.

Did you know? Basketry is an ancient art that involves weaving soft plant materials such as willow, rattan, wicker or bamboo to create utilitarian and decorative objects.
